Thanks to two young designers, the Liftoff has become one of the best community spaces in the country.

A Liftoff az év irodája versenyen az év közösségi tere kategóriában bekerült a legjobb 8 közé . Bemutatjuk nektek  Zvolenszky Blankát, és Imre Katát  a storiz tervezőcsapatát azt a két fiatal építészt, akiknek a Liftoff ezt a menő designt köszönheti .

LIFTOFF (L): How did you and the client find each other?

storiz (s): we were brought together by a mutual architect friend. Since this was in the middle of a major project that was already underway, we first wondered who we could recommend to replace us. After a short deliberation, we decided to go for it, we were going to take our time, it seemed so exciting!

Why did you find this place exciting?

s: The first step in a design process is a design research project. This is when it was discovered that Liftoff's premises were originally a lift factory. It turned out that most of our large public buildings, including the lifts for the Parliament, were once made here. This had quite an impact on the concept. It was a design concept from the moment it was discovered. The former factory on the site of the current office deserves not to be forgotten. We have tried to create continuity between past and present by means of an industrial atmosphere. This is why the ceilings are "raw" and why the natural steel details and surfaces in several rooms of the Liftoff are still visible, and why the electrical installation is routed outside the walls. As a small sign, we also designed the phone booth -a quiet retreat from the coworking area- so that when you enter it, it reminds you of an elevator. We wanted to display the factory's past in a way that would have relevance to the new office function, because of course the aim was to maximise the needs of today's office.

2.L:What unexpected things did you encounter during your work? What are the limits and possibilities when designing an unconventional office?

s: Finding a common voice with the client is a common challenge. Everyone is different. Getting to know the client's needs and ideas, exploring the current local opportunities, requirements, specifications, budget and coordinating all of this.
We had an easy job with Liftoff, because we had to design a creative office for a creative community - a rewarding task. In discussions with Monika Monika Gyurity ( the owner) we also felt that she was open, easy to understand the ideas and the design and absolutely constructive to the design issues at hand.
Otherwise, planning is typically limited by the budget of the investment.

3.L:When you are designing, creating, what is the like and dislike part? What or who inspires you the most?

s: We always try to find the challenge in the phase or task at hand. Maybe it's the technical part, which is already very dry, drawing the design, which can become too monotonous at the end of the design process. However, its predictability is also an advantage...
Inspiration can come from so many things, but perhaps the most refreshing is when you are "stuck" in nature or even in the city - standing up from the computer - and the solution/inspiration comes to you while you are moving. Typically, trying to keep an eye on what's happening in the big world of design is inspiring too.
Basically, we are looking for answers to current design questions, which can come from many places in interior design: the past, fine arts, other applied arts, - but if we want to be very cliché, inspiration can come from any random area of life. You have to be open.

4L: What are the architectural and design innovations nowadays that can make a building, an interior, an office exciting and interesting?

s: Any element, idea, thought that we haven't seen before, that is original, fresh, gives something extra - even if only on an emotional level, but if functionally, in use, even better - that's what we mean now in terms of design in the first place.
The issue of environmental awareness is also very important today, and its aesthetic application is what can make a space valuable for us.

5.L: What do you think are the three factors that make a coworking office popular with guests?

s: location, service, community.

6.L:Knowing the capabilities of Liftoff, who would you recommend it to in the first place?

s: For everyone! During the design process, the multimedia, light-painting community already established in other venues was the target audience, with whom additional moving image creatives could nicely join.
It's exciting if this company can be diverse, the advantage of a community office is that you can learn from each other, be inspired or just relax with an interesting presentation, so it's also good for someone who works in any other field and is looking for an exciting, diverse new place to work.

7.L: What are your plans for the future, what tasks do you have ahead of you?

s: We have several projects running in parallel at the moment, these are now residential, office and school interiors. We want to continue working on exciting projects with sympathetic clients. Our current big task for our studio is to launch our website and at the same time find our place in social media - so that we can finally have a virtual presence[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][/vc_row].
